Q: How do I log into my Phone Sherpa Store to make changes?

Q: How do I add a new wallpaper to my Store?
A: Add wallpapers via the Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page.
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page.
  2. Click on the orange button labeled “Add New Wallpaper”.
  3. Locate and select your image file on your computer and click “Submit”.
  4. Enter the information about your wallpaper, including the price.
  5. Click the blue button labeled “Save".
 * The Phone Sherpa Picture Editor currently supports: .jpg, jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .psd, .png, and tiff.  Files must not exceed 10mb in size.

Q: How do I edit the thumbnail images on my Hosted Store?
A: The Phone Sherpa Editor is an easy-to-use tool that optimizes the selected part of your wallpaper image to display as a thumbnail on your Hosted Store.
  1. Select a Picture Editor Mode to manage the aspect ratio of the preview image.
  2. If in Crop or Stretch Modes, click and drag the red corners of the box to select part of the picture and click the Crop button.
  3. Use the Picture Preview area to see how the photo will look on the web site.
  4. Use the Select an Effect dropdown menu to manipulate your picture.
  5. Repeat steps 1 thru 3 as needed, press Submit to finish editing.
  6. Phone Sherpa watermark will not appear in the final picture.

Q: How do I add ringtones to my Store?
A:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page.
  2. Click on the orange button labeled “Add New Ringtone”.
  3. Click on the “browse” button.
  4. Locate and select your audio file from your computer.
  5. Click on the blue button labeled “Start Upload.”*
  6. Use the Phone Sherpa Ringtone Editor to optimize your audio file.
  7. Click the blue button labeled “Submit.”
  8. From the Edit Ringtone Information page, enter all of the information about your ringtone, including the price.
  9. Click the blue button labeled “Save.”
  10.  
* TIP: You do not have to pre-edit the audio file to length before upload. Upload the full audio file for best results.  You can not make a ringtone longer than 30 seconds in length.

Q: How do I adjust the length of my ringtone?
A: Edit an audio file by following the steps below:
  1. **Drag the middle of the Red Box to choose which part of the song you'd like to use.
  2. Change the ringtone Duration by dragging the left or right edge of the Red Box.
  3. Listen to the clip and repeat steps 1 thru 3 as needed.
  4. Press Submit when finished.
**Tip: You do not have to pre-edit the audio file to length before upload. Max ringtone length is set to 30 seconds to ensure the complete clip can be downloaded to all supported phones. Clips longer than 30 seconds may be truncated by many phone models.

Q: How do I edit the name and description of my hosted store?
A:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account.
  2. In the left navigation menu, locate and click on the “Edit Hosted Store” link.
  3. On the Manage Your Hosted Store page, scroll down and locate the blue colored “edit” link.
  4. Locate the designated fields for the “Title/Header” and “Your Store Description,” and complete the information.
  5. Click the blue button labeled “Save.”

Q: How do I upload or update the Store logo?
A: Your store logo is the image located within the left navigation menu of your Hosted Store page. When you upload or update your logo, you should see your image in this location. Make sure you preview your store before logging out of your account.
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Store Account.
  2. Click on the “update logo image” link located on the right side of the page.
  3. Locate and open your image file.
  4. Click the blue button labeled “Start Upload.”
  5. Edit your image, then click the button labeled “Submit.”

Q: How do I change the main feature image at the Phone Sherpa Store?
A: The main feature image of your Phone Sherpa Store is the image located near the top center of your Store page. This is a great place to showcase your most impressive piece of art or your band's best photo.

Q: How soon do changes I make to Phone Sherpa Store appear on my store page?
A: Any changes you make to your store appear automatically. To keep your Store content fresh and interesting, Phone Sherpa highly recommends regularly updating and maintaining the content of your Store.

Q: How do I integrate the Phone Sherpa Flash Store into my web site or blog?
A: The Phone Sherpa Flash Store is a self contained list of ringtones or wallpapers, which allow users to browse, preview and purchase ringtones or wallpapers. This is a very innovative and exciting way to extend your promotional reach for bands, artists, record labels, or events.

  2. From the Phone Sherpa Store Merchant Account page, locate and click on the “Configure Your Store” link located in the left navigation menu.
  3. From the Store Integration Wizard page, locate the section “Flash Store.”
  4. Click on the corresponding “Start Wizard...” link.
  5. On the Flash Store Configuration and Code page, scroll down to step #4.
  6. Click the button labeled, “Finish Wizard.”
  7. Copy and paste the generated Flash embed tag into your own website or blog.

Q: Does the Phone Sherpa Flash Store take my customer away from my site?  Do they end up at Phone Sherpa’s Web site?

  8. To immediately check your results, click on the button labeled “Refresh Preview Store”.
  9. Repeat steps 7 – 8 to achieve alternate color scheme.
  10. Click the “Finish Wizard” button located at the bottom of the page
  11. Copy and paste the Flash embed tag into your own website or blog to see your newly updated Flash Store.
**Note:You must enter a hexadecimal color code, which corresponds to the color you would like to see in you Flash Store color scheme.

Q: Can I modify the size of the Phone Sherpa Store?
A: Yes, you can change the aspect ratio of your Store within the Configuration Wizard to best fit your own web site or blog page.   6. Enter the desired number of pixels into the designated fields for width and height of your Flash Store.
  7. Click on the button labeled “Finish Wizard” located at the bottom of the page.
  8. Copy and paste the Flash embed tag into your own website or blog to see your newly updated Flash Store.

Q: How Do I put “Preview” and “Buy” buttons for individual items on my web site?
A: When a customer clicks on the “Buy” button, this executes the purchase transaction within your Store. Similarly, clicking on a “Preview” button allows your customer to hear your ringtone or view your wallpaper within your Store. With the adaptable Flash Component Configuration Wizard, you can create the “Preview” and “Buy” buttons for your Store in a snap. Here is another fun and creative opportunity for you to control the look of your Store.

Q: What are the different types of ringtones I can sell in my store?
A: You can sell “true tones” in your Store. This means ringtones made from any high fidelity source that plays back the sound of real instruments and voices; for example, a .wav file, an MP3 or a CD track. Phone Sherpa supports the following formats: .mp3, .aac, .wav, .wma, .aiff, and .au. Phone Sherpa does not support monophonic or polyphonic formats such as midi files.

Q: Who determines the price for each item in my Store?
A: It’s your Store, and you’re the boss!  Phone Sherpa provides for mobile content price levels. Prices are localized for your region.

Q: How does Phone Sherpa calculate my profit from sales?
A: Starting your Phone Sherpa Store is easy and fun, and reaping the benefits of your Phone Sherpa Store is even better! Phone Sherpa calculates and makes payments once a month based on the amount of content sold.

How is payout calculated?


Q: When do I get paid?
A: Phone Sherpa makes payouts to Store owners on the 1st day of each month. On each payment date, you will receive an email notification indicating that a payment has been made to your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will be prompted to create one upon notification of your first payment.

Q: Where can I go to see a history of my Store payouts?
A:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account.
  2. On the Merchant Account page, scroll down to the blue colored link titled, “[View Payout History].” Click on link.
  3. On the Billing and Payout History page, scroll down and locate the Payout History section of the page.

Q: How do I collect Phone Sherpa payouts?
A: To make sure you receive your payouts in the most prompt, secure, and convenient way, Phone Sherpa will transmit your payouts to a PayPal account of your choosing.  If you do not already have a PayPal account, you will be prompted to create one when you receive your first payment.

Q: When do I receive my share of my Store’s sales?
A: Regardless of how much profit you generate, Phone Sherpa will send your payout to you once a month.

Q: I do not want to make a profit from my shop. Do I need to fill out tax info?
A: You will need to comply with the tax laws and regulations for your region or country. In most areas, you will need to include your payouts in your tax information whether you make a profit or not from your shop. Please consult a tax authority for your area to determine what your tax obligations are.

Q: Can I give away my ringtones and wallpaper for free?

Account & Billing:

Q: How do I upgrade my Phone Sherpa Store?
A: Upgrading is easy.
  1. Click here to log into the Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page.
  2. From the Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page, click on the “Upgrade My Store” link located in the top left-hand navigation.
  3. Select a Phone Sherpa pricing package.
  4. Make and confirm your purchase for the product upgrade.

Q: If I cancel my Phone Sherpa Store services, do I get a partial refund, and what happens to my Store?
A: Phone Sherpa does not offer partial refunds. You will continue to have access to your Store Account, but you will not be able to create or save items to your Store, and you will not earn money from selling your music as ringtones.

Q: I don’t want to use my Store anymore, so how do I cancel?
A: We hope you choose to continue using the PhoneSherpa Store services.  If you decide to cancel, you will continue to have access to your Merchant Account, but you will not be able to create or save items to your Store

  2. Click on View Account Information
  3. Click on the Cancel Link

Q: How do I change the credit card information for my Phone Sherpa Store? 
A: We want you and your fans to continue to enjoy the benefits of your store. To avoid any interruptions in your subscription, it is important to update your account billing information when it changes. It is easy and only takes a few seconds to complete:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page.
  2. Scroll down the center of the page to locate and click on the blue colored “[add a card]” link.
  3. Enter the appropriate information in the designated fields.
  4. Click on the blue button labeled “Save”.

Q: How do I see my billing history? 
A: Follow the steps below to check your billing history:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account.
  2. Scroll down the center of the Merchant Account page to locate and click on the blue colored link labeled, “View Billing History.”
  3. Scroll to the Billing History section of the page.

Real Time Reporting:

Q: What is a Report?
A: A report is like a bank account statement, and, like a bank account statement, you are provided an organized and detailed summation of your Store’s activity during a given period of time.

Q: How do I find my Phone Sherpa Sales and Usage Reports? 
A: Your Store real time reporting is a feature that allows you to examine your sales activity over time. Checking your reports can be completed by following these steps:
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account.
  2. From you’re the Merchant Account, page, locate and click on the “Sales Report” link in the top left navigation.

Q: How do I view my report details during a specific period of time? 
A: Reviewing your reports based on a specific period of time is an effective way to forecast sales and market your store. For example, if your seasonal ringtones and wallpaper did well during the holidays last year, you can anticipate when and how to market your store prior to subsequent holidays.
  1. Log into your Phone Sherpa Merchant Account page
  2. From you’re the Merchant Account, page, locate and click on the “Sales Report” link in the top left navigation.
  3. On the Realtime Sales and Usage Reports page, click on the calendar icons to select the start date and the end date.

Q: What information do the Usage Reports display and why is it important? 
A: Phone Sherpa Usage Reports is comprised of the following information for a given date range:
  1. File downloads by title
  2. Total downloads and payout amount
  3. Payment history
The information provided in the reports helps you effectively gauge how well each item in your store is selling. For example, your next promotional move might be based on determining the most popular ringtone in your store. Consider the promotional possibilities when looking through your reports.
